The Los Angeles Lakers won the Western Conference semifinals beating the Houston Rockets 89-70 on Sunday.

“Coming in here for Game 7, we knew they were going to give us their best shot, especially in the first quarter,” Rockets forward Shane Battier said after the disappointing loss. “To be honest with you, we just didn’t have energy to match it. Unfortunately, after we got past the first quarter we played them pretty straight up, but the damage had been done at that point.”

Although the Lakers won the series, Kobe Bryant is not impressed with his teams performance.

“Our effort could be much better, you know, in Game 4 and Game 6,” Bryant said. “But still, Houston played extremely well. In a series, it’s about making adjustments. That’s what we were able to. We made our adjustments. We came out and were ready to go. You can’t take anything away from this Houston team. But we definitely could have played a lot harder.”

The Lakers will face the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals starting on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
