The New York Yankees accomplished the Subway Series sweep after beating the New York Mets 4-2 on Sunday night.
After the game Mariano Rivera was handed the game ball after becoming only the 2nd reliever to ever reach 500 saves.
“He’s one of the premier closers in my time,” Mets manager Jerry Manuel said about Rivera. “I wasn’t applauding him tonight, but you do have to applaud that.”
Congratulations to Mariano Rivera!
