Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel may miss 2-4 weeks of regular season action after suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

If Cassel is unable to play he will be replaced by either Tyler Thigpen or Brodie Croyle.

“It’s unfortunate for Matt,” Croyle said. “Who knows the timetable when he’ll be back? If it comes time to go, I’ll just have to be ready.”

Chiefs fans really have no reason to panic. We actually believe Thigpen is a better quarterback than Cassel. If you followed the Chiefs during the last half of last season, you know Thigpen is capable of winning games. He’s a decent thrower, but he adds another dimension with his running ability.
