Matt Kenseth is so far undefeated in the 2009 NASCAR season. Last week he won the Daytona 500 and yesterday he beat out Jeff Gordon to take first place in the Auto Club 500.

“Just great team, great crew, great, great engines,” Kenseth said after winning his 18th career victory. “You just need everything to go right, really to win these races.”

With 38 laps to go in the 250-lap race Kenseth took the lead from Gordon under caution in the pits.

“Our car handled really good all day and we had excellent pit stops,” Kenseth said. “About the fourth one from the end, I started complaining and then, all of a sudden, they started getting me three or four spots every stop.”

Kenseth is hot right now, but can he keep it up?
