Michael Vick signs with the Philadelphia Eagles

Many football fans were surprised when they came home from work on Thursday evening and saw that the Philadelphia Eagles have signed Michael Vick to a 2-year deal. The dog killer will receive $1.6 million for the first year and $5.2 million in the second year if the Eagles decide to keep him on board.
Immediately after hearing to news, PETA blasted the Eagles.
“PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Eagles decided to sign a guy who hung dogs from trees. He electrocuted them with jumper cables and held them under water,” PETA spokesman Dan Shannon told The Associated Press. “You have to wonder what sort of message this sends to young fans who care about animals and don’t want them to be harmed.”
We’re not sure why anyone would have wanted Vick on their team, but the Eagles only need him to hold a clipboard. We highly doubt he’ll ever see the field.
