Misty May-Treanor has torn her achilles tendon in her left leg during rehearsals for ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars”.

“I heard a pop,” said May-Treanor.

“I was doing the Lindy Hop. I thought I flew out of control and hit the judges’ stairs, or it felt like I got hit in the back with a baseball bat. Then, I just couldn’t put weight on it.”

The injury has forced May-Treanor to drop out of the show and take a well deserved vacation but she promises the injury will not end her volleyball career.

“I was planning on taking time off next year anyways,” May-Treanor said on the dancing show. “I get to spend time with my husband now. But also, this is ultimately the best time if this was going to happen, because it didn’t throw a wrench into any of the plans we had.”
