Longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator, Monte Kiffin, will be leaving the team at the end of their season to join his son, Lane, in Tennessee.
“It boiled down to one thing: it’s your son,” Monte Kiffin said. “This was not easy. It was hard.”
Kiffin, 68, is widely regarded around the National Football League as the best defensice coordinator in football but at his age he understands family comes first.
Monte is one of those guys who will coach until he’s dead and so this decision can kind of be seen as his retirement. He’ll get to spend loads of time with his son and he’ll have less stress on a day to day basis.
