The New York Jets have released retired future hall of famer Brett Favre on Wednesday which means Favre is a free agent and would be free to sign with any team in the league if he comes out of retirement.

“Nothing has changed,” Favre said in a statement. “At this time, I am retired and have no intention of returning to football.”

I’d like to believe Favre but I’m not buying it. If the Colts or Patriots already have a playoff berth clinched and Peyton Manning or Tom Brady go down for the rest of the season, do you seriously think Favre wouldn’t come back if he got the call?
