The National Football League has suspended 6 players for 4 games without pay after they violated the leagues anti-doping policy.

The suspended players are Saints running back Deuce McAllister and defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith; Vikings defensive linemen Kevin and Pat Williams (no relation) and Texans long snapper Bryan Pittman.

The suspensions mean, unless they make the playoffs, their season is already over.

Some coaches around the league are angry is took the NFL nearly 2 months to hand out their rulings on these players.

“I think if you ask most coaches, every game is important. I don’t think they’d differentiate between the first and the last,” NFL’s vice president of law and labor policy, Adolpho Birch said. “We do have things in place to get them done as quickly as possible. But we had to deal with the number of players involved and adjust travel schedules. We have to fit it around the players’ ability to attend.”

The Vikings suffer the most from these suspensions. They’re losing thy’re two best run stuffers on defense and without them, teams will be able to run up their gut at will.

At first glance Saints RB Deuce McAllister may seem like a big loss but with the emergence of Pierre Thomas, New Orleans rarely used him anyway.
