Nick Diaz knocks out Shamrock

Frank Shamrock proved to be no match for the much younger Nick Diaz when the 25-year-old knocked out the former champion in the 2nd round of their Saturday night match in front of 15,211 fans at the HP Pavilion.
“I give everything to Nick Diaz,” Shamrock said after the fight. “I knew he was a dangerous opponent. Nick kicked my ass tonight; there’s no two ways about it. Nick was just the better man. He hit me in the guts, and that was about all the juice I had. I doubled over, and he put a whoopin’ on me.”
Diaz talked a lot of shit to Shamrock before and during the fight but afterwords he had nothing but respect for Shamrock.
“The key was to get in here and feel good,” Diaz said. “It’s hard to hate that guy. He’s been doing what I want to do and saying what I want to say for a long time.”
Shamrock fought like shit and many of his long time fans wish he would retire, and stay away from the ring for good.
Unfortunately, Shamrock plans to fight again.
“This is my hometown; this is my arena,” he said. “I’m 36. I’m still going. I’ll be back here. Don’t even worry about it. There’s always tomorrow.”
Does Frank Shamrock want to become the Evander Holyfield of MMA?
