If Chinese authorities have anything to do with it, there will no night life for the likes of competitors and tourists to enjoy when they come to Beijing for the Olympics.

A good number of night clubs has been closed even before the set deadline which will leave the visitors with nothing to do in the evenings.

The local clubs have been forced to take anti-drug seminars, the authorities have also forced them to search patrons, the clubs have to be closed by 2 a.m., there have been a number of raids and foreign acts have been dropped because of the temporary work permits that are almost impossible to obtain.

An unnamed Hong Kong source was quoted as saying that bar owners were forced to sign a secret pledge not to serve Mongolian prostitutes or Black people.

It is astonishing what they can get away with all under the pretense of security.
