The Notre Dame Fight Irish would like to play a college football game at the new Yankee stadium in the future.

“We’ve been in contact with Yankee Stadium and asked and inquired,” Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick said. “We will be discussing games with them, but we haven’t entered into any substantive discussions.”

Swarbrick said his dream scenario Notre Dame would play in the new Yankee stadium against Army in 2013.

“It would be of great historical significance for us if it would be Army,” Swarbrick said, according to the report. “We would love that. Some of the most significant games in the history of college football involve those two schools and Yankee Stadium.”
