Nuggets beat Lakers in game 2, 106-103

The Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 106-103 in game 2 of the Western Conference finals on Thursday night at the Staples Center, tying the series 1-1.
“I think this is going to be a long series,” Denver coach George Karl said after the game.
Carmelo Anthony finished the night with 34 points and 9 points. Chauncey Billups added an additional 27 points and Kenyon Martin had 16 points.
“To get one on the road is always tough,” Anthony said. “We came in and got it. We’re mentally tough and we showed that in this game coming off the loss that we gave away in Game 1.”
Game 3 is Saturday in Denver.
