Oakland Raiders settle for Tom Cable as Head Coach

Sources have told ESPN that the Oakland Raiders have hired Tom Cable as their head coach for next season.

The Raiders are denying the report.

“The decision has not been made,” Raiders senior executive John Herrera said. “That’s not correct. At some point here we will have a head coach, but as of now that decision has not been made. We are assembling a staff as you know, but a decision on the head man has not been made.”

Cable was named the Raiders interim head coach after the team fired Lane Kiffin. He didn’t do a good job as the interim head coach so I highly doubt he’ll do anything as their permanent head coach.

It looks like the Raiders will continue to be a joke next year.
