Dante Wesley Hit Video

Dante Wesley of the Carolina Panthers was ejected today for a ridiculous hit on punt returner who had called for a fair catch. How big do you think Wesley’s fine is going to be for this hit?

You might think Colt McCoy must have a pretty awesome life being the quarterback at highly ranked Texas, and you’d be right. Just check out the spoils of the position. The above is Rachel Glandorf, Colt McCoy’s girlfriend. Glandorf is a senior track and field athlete at Baylor, and she first rose to prominence last year during the Fiesta Bowl when Fox showed her on camera over and over as Texas pulled out a thriller over Ohio State.

The losing coach really doesn’t have anyone to blame but himself, his kids should know the rules. You play until the whistle blows. This happened at a game in Michigan between Canton Plymouth High and Westland John Glenn.

Captain Lou Albano died early Wednesday morning after being sent home from the hospital earlier this week and placed in hospice care. He has been ill for awhile, and his passing was expected I think, but this is still a big loss to any child of the 70s and 80s.

To non-wrestling fans Lou Albano might best be remembered as starring in Cyndi Lauper’s famous “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” video, but to wrestling fans Albano will be remembered as a legendary wrestler and manager. Here’s Lou Albano on “Hollywood Squares” with Roddy Piper:

The SUV from Charlie Davies Accident

USA soccer has been riding a high this past week as they qualified for the 2010 World Cup, but that was tempered today when striker Charlie Davies was involved in a horrific one car accident that sliced an SUV in half and killed one person involved. The accident occurred at 3:00 in the morning on Tuesday.

Mike Tyson was promoting “Tyson” with his Oprah interview

Mike Tyson appeared on Oprah today and talked about the death of his four year old daughter, as well as prison, biting people, and beating Robin Givens.

Tyson doesn’t regret biting Holyfield according to the interview. He also talked about his first fight (he beat someone up for killing one of his pigeons) and his anger problems. Tyson also discussed his legendary interview with Barbara Walters where Robin Givens basically called him an abuser while he sat silently. Tyson claimed Givens was just as abusive, which might have been true, but I don’t think she has Tyson’s right so it’s kind of a moot point.

FOX NFL Sunday Jessica Simpson Cartoon

I can’t believe Fox’s Sunday pre-game show actually aired this cartoon, pretty visciously going after Tony Romo’s ex Jessica Simpson for gaining weight. Really seems to step over the line of good taste, I guess as a celeb she’s fair game, but what does this have to do with football?

The Fox NFL Sunday Jessica Simpson cartoon definitely gives off an idiot high school social strata vibe.

Ray Lewis hits Chad Ochocinco here, in what I’d normally say would be one of the highlights of the day for the Ravens, but not so much this time since it extended the Bengals drive and eventually led to the Ravens loss.

Bengals Coach Mike Zimmer’s Wife Found Dead

Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer’s wife died unexpectedly and tragically last week. Vicki Zimmer’s cause of death has not yet been announced, but she was only fifty years old, and leaves behind not only her husband but three children. Vicki was discussed briefly on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ this season, when Mike Zimmer talked about how she baked cookies for all the defensive players, and would chide him to go easy on the guys. Anyone who’s watched ‘Hard Knocks’ or been a fan of the Cowboys or Bengals in recent years knows the guy is something of a hard ass, and it seems clear that his wife definitely kept him grounded.
