The Philadelphia Phillies greatly improved their lineup on Wendesday when they signed former 3-time Cy Young Award winner Pedro Martinez to a $1 million, one-year contract.

“I might surprise you, I might not,” Martinez said. “It’s going to be really fun to go find out.”

Martinez is 37-years old and he’s nowhere near as good as he used to be, but he’s still capable of having a great night every now and then.

“I don’t expect to be the same Pedro that I was when I was 26,” Martinez said. “There’s a lot of innings I’ve pitched since then. It’s not the same, but I still feel like I can still bring something to the table.”

Great pick up for the Phillies.
