Phillies Sneak By The Giants 1-0

The Philadelphia Phillies were able to edge out the San Francisco Giants 1-0 on Tuesday night, largely in part to the great two-hitter pitching performance by Cole Hamels.
“He pitched a heck of a game,” Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. “He used all his pitches. When he gets going, he keeps it for a while. That’s what we’re looking for. He looked like the old Cole.”
In the fourth-inning Ryan Howard was able to drive in the only run of the night. Hamels took care of the rest.
“I really tried not to stress myself out and go out and not try to be too good,” Hamels said. “All I can do is throw strikes and let the team behind me take care of it.”
Great Tuesday night performance by the Phillies!
