St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols has won his 2nd career NL MVP award, receiving 18 of 32 first-place votes.
“I’m pretty happy,” Pujols said.
“Obviously, you have to have the numbers to be considered.”
Pujols won the award by a large margin over Philadelphia slugger Ryan Howard. Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun finished 3rd in voting and Los Angeles outfielder Manny Ramirez came in 4th.
Pujols finished the season hitting .357 with 37 home runs and 116 RBIs while playing with a sore right elbow.
