The San Diego Chargers knocked the NFL MVP, Peyton Manning, and the Indianapolis Colts out of the Super Bowl hunt, beating them 23-17 on Saturday night.
“It’s disappointing to lose a playoff game,” Manning said after the game. “We certainly had some chances to win, but give them credit. We had chances to put the game away, but we just didn’t do it.”
LaDainian Tomlinson was in his usual playoff form — hurt and on the bench for most of the game. But that actually ended up helping the Chargers because the Colts couldn’t find a way to stop 5 foot 6 Darren Sproles who had 102 yards and 2 tds.
“You know, when your number is called, you have to be ready,” said Sproles.
The Chargers will face the Steelers on Sunday. And if they want to win they will keep Tomlinson on the bench, even if he is healthy enough to play. Tomlinson is worthless in the playoffs.
