The Pittsburgh Steelers have won Super Bowl 43, beating the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 with a 78-yard touchdown drive in the final minutes of the game.
“This has been our story all year,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. “Steelers football is 60 minutes. It’s never going to be pretty.”
Pittsburgh dominated the first half 17-7 but in the 4th quarter Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was able to find receiver Larry Fitzgerald for 2 touchdowns, giving them the lead 27-23 with just 2:37 left in the game.
That ended up being more than enough time for the Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger who threw the winning touchdown to Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes.
“Great players step up in big-time games to make plays,” Holmes said. “I kind of lost a little composure, you know, but I knew our defense would give us a chance to make it back.”
Holmes finished the game with 9 receptions for 131 yards. If you missed his spectacular game winning catch or if you just want to see it again check out the video below:
There were many great plays throughout the game, like James Harrison’s 100 yard interception return to end the first half:
And Larry Fitzgerald’s 64 Yard touchdown catch to put the Cardinals ahead late in the 4th:
Out of those 3 magnificent plays from Super Bowl 43 which one will you always remember?
