Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was found dead with four gunshot wounds, 2 in the head and 2 in the chest, on Saturday at a Nashville condominium.

“It’s still kind of hard to believe,” Steve’s brother, Fred McNair said. “He was the greatest person in the world. He gave back to the community. He loved kids and he wanted to be a role model to kids.”

McNair’s 20-year-old girlfriend Sahel Kazemi was found dead by his side with 1 gunshot wound in the head. A semiautomatic pistol was also found underneath her body.

Investigators are leaning towards ruling the deaths a murder-suicide.

“Based on the evidence at the scene and based on what we know from witnesses thus far, you can lean certain ways in an investigation,” police spokesman Don Aaron said. “But you can’t be closed-minded in an investigation. No possibilities have been ruled out.”
