Suspended Italian players taking on ATP

It seems that betting scandals are not solely reserved for Italian football anymore.
In November last year 4 Italian tennis players (Giorgio Galimberti, Potito Starace, Daniele Bracciali and Federico Luzzi) have been involved in a scandal – they have made bets on tennis matches.
The best ranked player out of 4 of them – Potito Starace (who is number 58. on the ATP list) has been fined with $30.000 and 100 days of suspended play. He wagered a whooping 401 bets in period of 3 years and even made a bet on a match he played in – that he will both win and loose (thats what I call covering your basis).
The other players got smaller fines and suspended sentences.
Now the lawyer representing the players Robert Elgidely went public with the fact the players will file a law suit against ATP.
Elgidely stated «Essentially, these players believe they were improperly targeted by the ATP for engaging in something that did not rise to the level of activities that are prohibited by the ATP… We’re not seeking monetary relief in the initial suit. We are seeking discovery that will allow us to evaluate and investigate not just what the ATP has done, but any third-party betting companies as well.»
Now this better be a big scandal, because lets face it – a tennis player making a bet against himself? They got off with a mere slap on the wrist.
