The Texas Longhorns beat the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl Monday night 24-21.
“I don’t think there’s anybody in the country who can beat us at this point,” Longhorns QB McCoy said.
With less than 2 minutes left i nthe game it looked like the Buckeyes were headed towards the victory but with just 16 seconds left on the clock McCoy hooked up with Quan Cosby for 26 yard touchdown.
“You saw a great football game out there, two teams going at it extremely hard,” Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said.
It was a very entertaining, hard fought game; both teams should be proud of their effort.
After the victory, Texas coach Mack Brown said his team is the best in the country and it should be them, not Oklahoma, playing for the National Championship.
“This team started this way and finished this way, and they’re obviously one of the best teams in the country if not the best,” Texas coach Mack Brown said.
The Longhorns did beat the Sooners earlier in the season and they will have every reason to be upset if Oklahoma ends up beating the Gators, and winning the title.
