10. Peggy Fleming

Peggy Fleming was a figure skater in the 60’s, winning a gold medal at the 1968 Winter Olympics. She parlayed her good looks into a job commentating on figure skating events that she held for over 20 years, including several Winter Olympic games. Fleming is now a breast cancer activist after successfully battling the disease in the late 90’s.

9. Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova is absolutely stunning, but she’s also a phenomenal athlete which makes her all the more attractive. While some women make this list almost primarily for their looks, Sharapova is just as noteworthy for her career achievements. Watching her play is always an enjoyable experience.

8. Gabrielle Reece

Gabrielle Reece was named by ELLE magazine as one of the five most beautiful Women in the World in 1989. Even though she was a very talented beach volleyball player, Reece was probably more well known for her modeling and television work. Most people who grew up watching MTV in the early 90’s will remember her as host of MTV Sports.

7. Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick is so hot she makes people care about IndyCar racing, at least for one weekend a year. That’s a hell of an achievement and pretty much enough said.

6. Biba Golic

I feel pretty comfortable saying that Biba Golic is the hottest table tennis player to ever live. She’s also the only table tennis player I’ve ever technically heard of, but I’m still willing to bet she’s the hottest.

5. Jennie Finch

Softball players don’t immediately come to mind when you think of hot female athletes, but Jennie Finch is definitely the exception. Probably for that reason, she’s the most famous softball player of all time. Finch has appeared in SI’s swimsuit issue and won an online ESPN.com poll naming her hottest female athlete.

4. Chris Evert

Chris Evert is one of the most popular women athletes the United States has ever had. Her nickname for quite awhile was actually “Chrissy America”. She was linked to damn near every high profile actor and athlete in the 70’s (including Burt Reynolds, Geraldo Rivera, Adam Faith, Vitas Gerulaitis, Pat Boone, and John Gardner “Jack” Ford, son of U.S. President Gerald Ford) and even hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live.

3. Anna Kournikova

Anna Kournikova would probably break the internet if she ever posed nude. She gets slammed unfairly for being a poor tennis player (she’s never won a singles tournament), but she was at times one of the best doubles players in the world, even reaching #1 at various times.

2. Katarina Witt

Katarina Witt appeared in Playboy in December of 1998. It was the second issue of Playboy to ever sell out, the first being the inaugural issue featuring Marilyn Monroe.

1. Natalie Gulbis

Possibly a controversial choice, but Gulbis is ridiculously, ridiculously hot. Female golfers have come a long way in perceived attractiveness in the past ten years, and Gulbis is leading the way, having sold a personal calendar as well as posing in magazines like FHM. We here at PopCrunch love her, and are proud to name her our hottest female athlete of all time.

    Natalie gulbis has a great bod, but her face looks like my friend Jim’s. Big cheeks and chin and a tiny mouth. Danica Patrick this high on the list.. please. no lips, no tits, you’ve drunk the Danica Kool aid! Honestly, look around tennis and you’ll find a lot hotter women than are on this list… but mostly it’s good.

    Anyone remember tennis player Mary Jo Fernandez? Gabriela Sabatini? Austrailian Olympic pole vauler Tatiana Grigorieva, maybe the hottest athlete I’ve ever seen (next to Kournikova, that is).
    And what’s the big deal with the William’s sisters? I don’t find them attractive, at all. Unless you like huge asses. Serena’s butt is so big, Kim Kardashian is jealous.

    I agree that this list is crazy. Definitely too many white girls on here. Don’t get me wrong, they are hotties on the list, but no Candice Parker? Swin Cash is on the list and yes, she is beautiful, but she’s no Candice Parker. And how could you leave out Serena’s gorgeous behind off of here. You want to talk about amazing bodies, what about Allison Felix? Mmm Mmm good. He obviously didn’t do any research on this list. I do understand that it is his opinion, but come on, watch some other sports besides golf, tennis, and figure skating.

    What we’re really all upset about is that none of us, on the best day we have EVER had, would get any one of these 50 women to take a second look at us. And if they did, would be turn it down? ANY of them? Not a chance. That’s the truth. Beauty, unlike truth, is subjective, and I appreciate at least that list maker reached back in time (Chrissie, Gabby and Laura Baugh were ALL hot in my era) and included them…

    The first few pages of the list weren’t bad, and evinced some research on your part. But Gulbis at #1 is indefensible. And if you’re going to put Witt at #2, you better post the nude picks to back it up. Showing her post-tennis did not help your cause.

    Did the list combine both looks and talent? Some more accomplished athletes seemed to get a bump over women who were objectively hotter. That’s fine, but it should be disclosed.

    Serena Williams isn’t in the top 100. Please.

    Summer Sanders had (has?) one hell of a body. She had the best body on the list, just above Katarina Witt. I would have included Dancing with the Stars competitors as athletes and rated champ Kelly Monaco as #1 followed by WWE Diva Maria Kanellis in the #2 slot.

    It’s a good list considering all the candidates. My only definite no is Tara Lipinski - don’t know what anyone could see in her. Jan Stephenson should be there, and I would have made room for Belbin, Grigorieva, Candace Parker, and my fave, Elena Dementieva.

    Carolina & Maria Clara Salgado - sisters from Brazil that play beach volleyball. Both of them are hotter than any of the 50 girls on this list.

    You forgot Ana Ivanovic who is as hot as Sharapova , and both are FAR hotter than Anna Kornikova. She is also an awesome athlete having won the French this year and getting to the Australian Finals.

    Peggy Fleming is beautiful. She’s so gorgeous and has the whole innocent beauty thing down. Damn she’s hot and has aged very well. Most of the other girls on the list aren’t that great. Gulbis is not that attractive, Sharapova should’ve been higher and yeah the Williams Sisters should’ve been on here for sure. Looked through the whole list and Peggy Fleming is the most beautiful woman.

    this was the worst list I’ve ever seen. Are the judges 50+ years of age. I mean, where is candace parker, where is lala ali, becky hammond, why is that the girl from brazil #30 but, michelle wie is #11, WTF. I think this needs to be redone. ASAP
