Thomas Jones & Jets Teammates Hate Brett Favre
New York Jets running back Thomas Jones is publicly bashing future hall of fame QB Brett Favre. Jones says Favre should have been benched for his poor play during their 24-17 loss to the Dolphins.
“We’re a team and we win together … but at the same time, you can’t turn the ball over and expect to win,” Jones told Hot 97 FM.
“The other day, the three interceptions really hurt us. I mean, that’s just reality,” Jones told the radio station. “If I were to sit here and say, ‘Oh, man, it’s OK,’ that’s not reality. … I don’t like it, I know everybody else on the team doesn’t like it.
Jones went on to say Favre’s careless play hurts the team jeopardizes every potential victory.

An anonymous Jets players also piled on Favre, stating he never talked to the team and was very standoffish.
“There was a lot of resentment in the room about him. He never socialized with us, never went to dinner with anyone,” the player told Newsday.
So basically they’re trying to say Favre needs to retire. He enjoys playing on Sundays but he isn’t willing to put in time during practice to correct his mistakes and he has no desire to create friendships with anybody on the team.
Do us all a favor and just retire Brett. You’ve obviously lost your mojo, and continuing to play is just hurting your once proud legacy.

Favre did have a terrible last quarter this season.
There is no doubt that he threw way too many picks this season, especially in the second half. Statistically, this was the worst year of his career.
But was it really all Brett’s fault? Obviously, he should have gone out with the boys for happy hour and socialized outside the “office”. But Mangini is to blame for poor coaching decisions and play calling as well. If NY fans knew Brett really well, they would be aware of the fact that he throws most interceptions when he is trying to make something out of nothing. Most of the games played by the Jets this season favored the running game, and Thomas Jones had a great season this year because of Brett’s presence.
Favre made a mistake by accepting a trade to the Jets in the first place. He should have stayed retired or insisted on a trade to Tampa Bay instead. In hindsight, he never should have retired in the first place and stayed in Green Bay. Had the Packer’s GM and president (TT & MM) not had even bigger egos than Brett, the team would have had a winning record and won their division.
If Brett can’t swing a trade to Minnie, he should retire for good…
