Tom Brady Isn’t Jealous Of Philip Rivers’ New Contract

Tom Brady, who is only signed through 2010, admitted that he has thought about the huge contract extensions his fellow quarterbacks Eli Manning and Philip Rivers have recently received, but he isn’t really worried about it right now.
“I’ve thought about it and I just want to go out and have a great year,” Brady said. “Believe me, nothing is guaranteed. That’s what I learned last year. You don’t know if you’ll be out here next week or the following week so I think the most important thing is to focus on this week and the more prepared you are for this week, the less chance you’ll have to play poorly or to have an injury.”
Brady also said that he’d love to be making more money, but it just isn’t his main concern at this point in time.
“If someone wants to pay you more money? I mean, I think we’re all probably underpaid, don’t you think?” he said, jokingly. “I mean, we all wish we were paid more, but that’s not the reality. We’re focused on this. I’m focused on this year.”
It goes without saying, but Tom Brady deserves more money than both Eli Manning and Philip Rivers combined. Fortunately for Patriots fans, Brady values winning more than money.
