Tony Dungy Thinks Barack Obama Is Great for America
Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy was recently asked about Barack Obama winning the Democratic presidential nomination and this is what he had to say.
“I pay a lot of attention to it. I never thought I’d see it in my lifetime and until [the] Iowa [primary], I still had my doubts whether it would happen. It’s thrilling. It’s important. When we won the Super Bowl, people said to me they never thought they’d see an African-American coach in that position. But this is so much more significant, obviously. It’s great for our country.”
In 2007, Dungy became the first African-American head coach to ever win a Super Bowl when the Colts defeated the Bears 29-17.
Dungy usually never gets involved with politics and has never publicly endorsed any candidate but the way it sounds he’s heavily favoring Obama in the upcoming election.
