Just a few days after Puerto Rico mercy ruled Team USA, the Americans got their revenge on Tuesday after they eliminated the Puerto Ricans 6-5 in the World Baseball Classic.

“Getting a crack at a team that embarrassed us a few days earlier, to have the resiliency to bounce back in the ninth and steal one from them was pretty big,” David Wright said.

Puerto Rico was shocked when Team USA came to life in the bottom of the ninth inning with a 3-run rally.

“They kept on the heat, and they didn’t give up,” Puerto Rican manager Jose Oquendo said.

After Puerto Rico destroyed the US most people were ready to write off the Americans. It’s nice to see the Americans have a lot of fight left in them.
