The United States men’s volleyball team beat Brazil 3-1 to win the gold at the 2008 Olympics.

“It all was starting to sink in,” head coach Hugh McCutcheon said. “I had to take a step out and collect my thoughts and collect my emotions and come back out. It’s a very meaningful moment.”

The Americans beat Brazil 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-23. Russia won the Bronze by defeating Italy.
