NCAA Villanova Duke Basketball

For the first time in more than 50 years Villanova has managed to beat Duke. And Unfortunatly for Duke the loss will keep them from reaching the elite 8.

“We just didn’t hit, didn’t hit,” Duke guard Jon Scheyer said. “We were getting the shots we wanted. We just weren’t hitting. Obviously, we thought we played terrible in the first half and we were only down 3 points, and we were encouraged by that.”

After the win, Villanova was already looking forward to playing their next opponent, number 1 seed Pittsburgh.

“When coach handed us the brackets, he only gave us the four teams in our area. We looked up and knew Pittsburgh was in that area,” Villanova forward Dante Cunningham said. “That’s something we kind of looked forward to.”

Villanova beat the Panthers 67-57 on January 28th in the regular season. Hopefully their upcoming match-up will be just as exciting as the previous one.
